Jennifer Handorf is an award-winning film producer and director known for her work in both independent cinema and the international television market. Since moving to the UK in 2007, she has produced over a dozen feature films under the Dark Matter banner, many of which have been internationally distributed and screened at over 100 film festivals worldwide — including the Sundance Film Festival and the Venice International Film Festival.
Her debut feature, The Devil’s Business, premiered at FrightFest London in 2010. Described by The Independent as "Pinter-esque," the film was praised for its sophistication and scares.
Her second feature, The Borderlands (also released as Final Prayer in the US), was met with critical and commercial success, with Mark Kermode calling it so unnerving he nearly left the cinema. She continued to champion high-concept, character-driven storytelling with Prevenge, the directorial debut of Alice Lowe, who was eight months pregnant during production.
Jennifer has also produced projects for the US television market, including Watcher in the Woods, starring Anjelica Huston and directed by Melissa Joan Hart, and A Working Mom’s Nightmare, a Lifetime movie based on the bestselling novel The Lie of You, featuring Tuppence Middleton and Rupert Graves.
